For domestic shipping within the USA, Backfire Skateboards ships from warehouses in California and Virginia Tech Center using major carriers such as USPS, UPS, and FedEx ground. The transit time for domestic shipments is typically 2 to 5 business days, depending on the distance between the origin and destination. Certain products cannot be shipped to PO boxes, APO, or FPO addresses due to their size and lithium battery content. A valid street address and phone number are required for shipping purposes.

For international shipping from China, Backfire offers both air and sea shipping options. Air shipping transit times vary from 7 to 20 business days, depending on the destination country. International air shipping from China involves additional steps, as UPS and FedEx do not accept large battery products directly from China mainland. Special air cargo from Hong Kong is used for shipping. The process includes forwarding the packages to a warehouse in Shenzhen, printing and labeling the packages, moving them to Hong Kong airport, and booking an air cargo airplane to the destination country. Customs clearance may take up to a couple of weeks, depending on the situation. Once cleared, the packages are sent to UPS, FedEx, or local carriers for final delivery, which typically takes 2 to 5 days in the USA or similar transit time in other countries.

Sea shipping from China has a longer transit time of about 35 to 40 days, or potentially longer during the pandemic. This method is generally the most cost-effective but slower. Once the container arrives at the USA or Germany warehouse, the packages are sent out via ground shipping. Customers will receive a tracking number from the local warehouse a few days before the package is delivered.

Please note that signature is required for most deliveries due to the high value of the products. If the recipient is not available at the time of delivery, the carrier will attempt a second delivery on the next business day. Alternatively, customers can contact the carrier to request holding the package at a local store or partner's location for pickup.

Backfire has a return policy that allows customers to return products within 30 days of purchase, as long as the product is in new condition and includes all accessories in the original packaging. However, during the special holiday season, the return window is extended from November 15th, 2023 to January 15th, 2024. Customers are responsible for paying the return shipping cost to the closest facility advised by the support team. The company will provide a refund for the product, excluding any shipping charges. To initiate a return, customers need to contact the support team via email to obtain authorization and create a shipping label addressed to "Backfire Returns." The original order number should be included on the shipping label or in the package. The products should be packed in the original packaging to ensure they are returned without damage. Once the package is received and confirmed to be in brand new condition, the company will issue a refund within three business days. However, if the board is used or damaged, a 15% restocking fee and the cost of damaged parts will be deducted from the refund. The company does not refund shipping fees.
